Salted Caramel Apple Beehive Pie
I remember making an apple pie with my grandmother. This is an updated version so go with the times. I wish I can hear her vice when she tries it and says “Shannerri this is delicious” Like she use to. I sure do miss my grandmother. Well enjoy and try making this with your grandchild or child so they can have the forever memory as I do, being in the kitchen and cooking with a loved one.
Ingredients
- 6 granny smith apples
- 2 pie crust
- 4 Tablespoon of butter
- 1/3 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup of caramel sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup of heavy cream
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 375
- In a saucepan add butter, brown sugar, caramel sauce,salt & heavy cream. Mix well on low flame
- Slice apples as desired
- Add apples to crust, pour sauce all over the apples
- Roll out 2nd pie crust slice in strips of 8
- Apply strips to the top of pie crust 4 across 4 up and down
- Place in oven for 40 minutes
